What’s in Your Lighthouse?
Our deepest desire is to love and be loved, unconditionally, no matter where we’re at, what we’ve done or are doing. The good news is love desires us even more than we’ve desired it. So much so, that love courageously and unconditionally makes the first move. It’s up to us to then decide how we respond to loves outreach, its pursuit of us.
Sound too good to be true? What if love is extending its hands to us through gifts that are available to every one of us. No matter where we are, what we’ve done or about to do, love’s gifts of virtues await our grasp. Virtues are beautiful, trustworthy extensions of love’s hands to us. In this world, we’ve been taught not to trust anything. We must make an exception with virtues. They are pure, genuine extensions of love that can always be trusted and counted upon. They are everywhere, anytime we need a hand, hope or some direction. Whenever we need to find our way back from a dark place or feeling alone. Virtues can always be counted upon to re-direct our steps towards our deepest desires of love.
The second book in this series, “A Billion Islands,” looks at how love challenges us to move off our own island to reach deeper levels of friendship. By “island,” I mean that proverbial place we’ve felt forced to go to isolate ourselves from all the chaos, lies and hurt caused from living in this world. Consequently, we isolate ourselves from others in trying to avoid further hurt or attempting to soothe our fears.
This second of a seven-book series, looks at our relentless quest for love through our friendships. A Billion Islands tells the story of Legato and Catalina and their deep need for more meaningful and impactful friendships. Their thirst for love eventually pulls them off their own islands drawing them into a life-changing friendship together that neither thought possible.
This book series takes a deep dive into seven areas of our human experiences with love, including friendship, family, sexual intimacy, and others. Join me as we explore together through stories these various experiences of human life with the goal of bringing our deepest desires for love back to life.
